The Sixes Rider Waite Tarot

Sixes — Harmony

Exchange / Harmony / Balance / Equilibrium
Descendants of The Lovers, these cards about finding the other half of yourself.

Overview of the Sixes

Six is the number of equality. Three and three. Three pairs of wife and husband. If three is a good number, six is twice as “better”. Sixes give us a point of rest, reflection, and a moment to love and cherish what’s around us. It is the balance of dark and light, it is the scales of libra, and harmony that nature works in.

“Sixes are the restoration of balance and harmony after the upsets of the fives. These cards predict an exchange, a give and take that results in a new equilibrium. It may not last, but for that moment, everything is stable. With this card, there is an almost “Ah-HA!” of recognition as if you’ve found a solution, and more than a little awe at its perfect symmetry. If you connect the sixes to the Lovers card you’ll see how it works. Like Gemini, you recognize your twin, your soul mate, your equal. Maybe you didn’t even know how uneven, how lopsided your life was, but now that you’ve met this person or thing your inner balance is restored. Here is the give and take that the cards say you need to achieve harmony.” 3

Comparing and Contrasting the Sixes

The Six of Pentacles obtain balance by taking one large sum of money and dividing it among those who are deserving of their amounts. The Six of Cups obtain balance by unionizing with others, delving in relationships and strengthening bonds. The Six of Wands obtain balance by dispensing energy in the places it is needed most. The Six of Swords obtain balance by counter-weighting and resolving issues.
